The Science Museum is one of central London’s major museums, renowned for its devotion to science, technology and history. It’s one of the city’s biggest attractions, boasting cutting-edge temporary and permanent exhibitions, large pieces of machinery from jets to old steam engines and a 3D IMAX cinema.
Chocolate Films has worked with the museum since 2012, creating video content for both online viewing and in-gallery exhibitions. Films produced for online include highlights and promotional films for the museum’s wide and varied events programme, while exhibition films have been included in both temporary and permanent exhibits.
Illuminating India was a season of exhibitions and events that ran from October 2017 to April 2018 and celebrated how Indian innovation in science, technology and mathematics has dramatically shaped the world we live in today. We were asked to produce a teaser trailer that would give the viewers some extraordinary facts to generate interest and excitement, without giving away too much.
We were commissioned by the Science Museum to create video and audio content for their new Medicine: Wellcome Galleries, which opened in November 2019. Featuring more than 3,000 medical artefacts, artworks, interactive games and immersive experiences, they house the largest medical collection of its kind in the world and explore humans’ relationship with medicine and health over the past 500 years.
