About The Royal Society

The Royal Society is an independent scientific academy of the UK and the Commonwealth, founded in the 17th century and dedicated to promoting excellence in science for the benefit of humanity. The Society has played a part in some of the most fundamental, significant and life-changing discoveries in the history of science and today its Fellows continue to make outstanding contributions in many scientific fields.

Shooting in Singapore

Chocolate Films was commissioned by the Royal Society to produce a series of five short films in which leading scientists introduce their specialist topic, to feature on the BBC Tomorrow’s World website. It was important to communicate the personal story of each scientist, and in doing so, give an insight into their work and life. Our crew ventured to Singapore with a green screen set up to record the interviews and then bespoke, person-specific animation was composited onto the films.
