‘The Next New Infection’

The World Health Organisation always has a red alert in preparation for an outbreak of what is known as Disease X – an unspecific epidemic that would be similar to Zika, Swine Flu or Ebola. We were approached by the Museum of London to make a film that would promote and be part of a free exhibition to examine what would happen if ‘Disease X’ hit London today.

A Story Behind Every Tragedy

We examined previous epidemics and focused on historically significant pieces within the Museum’s collection. This included the dress Queen Victoria wore to mourn the death of her grandson, who died following a flu outbreak in 1892. Our senior project manager and lead filmmakers met with the museum’s project manager, curators and exhibition designers, who provided us with a wealth of information that we turned into a script, which eventually became a six-minute film.
