A Golden Production

For three months Chocolate Films worked with the Royal Collection on creating content for their remarkable exhibition Gold. We shot behind the scenes at St James’s Palace to film the Queen’s gilder working on a piece of furniture, visited Windsor Castle to see the royal book-binder at work and even travelled to Italy to film legendary goldsmith Giovanni Corvaja in his studio.

Mesmerising Exhibition Content

These four silent films were screened at the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace, and Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh. Here’s how Antonia Quirke described it on BBC Radio 4 ‘s Saturday Review: “They had these silent films of people working with gold leaf that are absolutely mesmeric and that almost felt like an installation.
