Community Conscious Critical Thinkers
Toynbee Hall is a children’s charity that works with east London schools. Make It! was a year-long mentoring programme for twelve Year 8 students, some of whom may lack confidence or need help with soft skills. The programme identifies young people who will benefit from the project, and takes them on trips and activities.
There’s no ‘I’ in teamwork
In many ways, this commission was a cross-pollination of the work of Chocolate Films and Chocolate Films Workshops. Our filmmakers regularly work with young people on creative projects and had the chance to use their youth work skills on this film. This was the second film that we’ve made for Toynbee Hall and it was screened at the Genesis Cinema in east London as part of a graduation ceremony. We’ve since also run workshops in conjunction with the charity.
