Art Night is London’s largest free contemporary art festival. For one night each year, it transforms a different part of London through various forms of art. Visitors can enjoy music, performing arts, installations, video screenings and more exploring the identity, culture and architecture of the area.
In 2018, Art Night crossed the river Thames to south London for the first time. The festival was held across the South Bank, Vauxhall and Nine Elms. This is our local area and Chocolate Films videographers were excited to move around all through the night, shooting countless performances and the engagement of the public.
We took to spaces as different as New Covent Garden Market, the BFI, Battersea Power Station, the British Interplanetary Society and outside on the river banks to capture the very colourful range of events. This highlights film takes you through the night with art and lively pop-up shows, as well as some of the more thought-provoking and serious pieces.
