A Meeting Of Minds
In 2018, the Royal College of Art partnered with CERN, The European Organization for Nuclear Research, for an innovative project that brought together science, technology and design under the title of The Grand Challenge. RCA students were mentored in London by representatives from CERN, but it was a very much a two-way relationship. These collaborations produced prototypes for new products that, in some cases, were solutions to everyday problems.
A Film In Three Acts
We filmed at three points in the process – the workshops, the awards ceremony, and the winning teams flying out to the CERN headquarters in Switzerland. This film is designed to demonstrate how the RCA works with other organisations to foster people’s imagination and to show how different disciplines can crossover to create something special.
