Coming From South America
Language teaching organisation English UK held a competition to bring young people from Brazil to different parts of the UK to enhance and encourage their speaking and reading skills in English. They also learnt about the local communities and history and stayed with families for a week in places such as York, Bristol, Belfast, Wales and London.
Wish You Were Here
We sent a two-person crew to each location for a couple of days to film the individual competition winners, who discussed how enjoyable the experience had been for them and what they had learned on the trip. We interspersed this with some of the students’ own footage of local landmarks such as Stonehenge, Piccadilly Circus in London, the Shambles in York and the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.
