Connectivity
The Ehlers-Danlos Society is a global community dedicated to saving and improving the lives of those affected by the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and related disorders, which are a group of connective tissue disorders that affect health and quality of life in a multitude of ways.
The aim of the film was to raise awareness of the condition globally in order to obtain funding for research to find a cure, establish 1,000 new experts by 2022 and ensure people are diagnosed and able to receive the care and validation they deserve.
Time for a Diagnosis
The narrative of the film is led by talking heads that were mainly shot as vox pops at a previous conference. We added interviews with Lara Bloom, Executive Director and Dr Clair Francomano that we shot at our offices in Battersea.
The film outlines the symptoms and daily struggles from patients, demonstrates what the condition is, highlights the remarkably long time to diagnosis and sheds light on how funding and awareness can benefit those suffering. The film is stylised in black and white, to reflect the zebra logo associated with the condition and as the film transitions to hope towards the end, the clips fade into vibrant colour.
