The man behind the museum

In June 2018, the Wallace Collection opened its new £1.2m space with Sir Richard Wallace: The Collector – an exhibition to celebrate 200 years since the birth of the museum’s founder. To help promote the event, we were asked to produce a film that would provide viewers with the story behind the man himself, how he acquired such a huge collection of art, furniture, paintings and sculpture, along with some of its most striking pieces.

Extraordinary Works of Art

To make these unique and extraordinary pieces within the Wallace Collection really stand out we used a turntable and shot against a black backdrop, accompanied by commentary from the museum’s experts. Ultimately, we wanted to create a film that would fascinate visitors both loyal and new, as well as art historians. To date, the video has had over 55,000 views on YouTube alone. It is one of the top results when Googling Richard Wallace.
