Tacita Dean at the National Portrait Gallery
The National Portrait Gallery held its first exhibition dedicated to the medium of film, by British artist Tacita Dean in May 2018. It featured portraits of 10 different subjects and received wonderful reviews. A former Turner Prize nominee and member of the Royal Academy of the Arts, Dean exhibited several pieces never previously seen in the UK and new films made exclusively for the event.
Promotional film for the exhibition
The film was made at the National Portrait Gallery and used for promotional purposes on Instagram and YouTube, as well as on the gallery’s own website. It reached over 13,000 views. With a one-day shoot and quick edit, no narration or interviews, the video features images from the exhibition and quotes from print and radio reviews.
